Вот распределение привратников: из Кореян: Мешелемия, сын Корея, из сыновей Асафовых.

Сыновья Мешелемии: первенец Захария, второй Иедиаил, третий Зевадия, четвертый Иафниил,

пятый Елам, шестой Иегоханан, седьмой Елиегоэнай.

Сыновья Овед-Едома: первенец Шемаия, второй Иегозавад, третий Иоах, четвертый Сахар, пятый Нафанаил,

Вот распределение привратников по главам семейств, способных на службу вместе с братьями их, для служения в доме Господнем.

И бросили они жребии, как малый, так и большой, по своим семействам, на каждые ворота.

И выпал жребий на восток Шелемии; и Захарии, сыну его, умному советнику, бросили жребий, и вышел ему жребий на север;

Овед-Едому на юг, а сыновьям его при кладовых.

Шупиму и Хосе на запад, у ворот Шаллехет, где дорога поднимается и где стража против стражи.

К востоку по шести левитов, к северу по четыре, к югу по четыре, а у кладовых по два.

К западу у притвора на дороге по четыре, а у самого притвора по два.

Вот распределение привратников из сыновей Кореевых и сыновей Мерариных.

Левиты же, братья их, смотрели за сокровищами дома Божия и за сокровищницами посвященных вещей.

Сыновья Лаедана, сына Герсонова – от Лаедана, гла́вы семейств от Лаедана Герсонского: Иехиел.

Сыновья Иехиела: Зефам и Иоиль, брат его, смотрели за сокровищами дома Господня,

вместе с потомками Амрама, Ицгара, Хеврона, Озиила.

Шевуил, сын Гирсона, сына Моисеева, был главным смотрителем за сокровищницами.

У брата его Елиезера сын Рехавия, у него сын Исаия, у него сын Иорам, у него сын Зихрий, у него сын Шеломиф.

У племени Хевронова Иерия был главою Хевронян, в их родах, в поколениях. В сороковой год царствования Давида они исчислены, и найдены между ними люди мужественные в Иазере Галаадском.

И братья его, люди способные, две тысячи семьсот, были главы семейств. Их поставил царь Давид над коленом Рувимовым и Гадовым и полуколеном Манассииным, по всем делам Божиим и делам царя.

Auch die Torwächter am Tempel waren in Abteilungen gegliedert.

Aus der Sippe Korach kam Meschelemja, der Sohn von Kore und Enkel von Abiasaf.

Seine Söhne waren: der Erstgeborene Secharja, der zweite Jediaël, der dritte Sebadja, der vierte Jatniël,

der fünfte Elam, der sechste Johanan und der siebte Eljoënai.

Auch Obed-Edom gehörte dazu; seine Söhne waren: der Erstgeborene Schemaja, der zweite Josabad, der dritte Joach, der vierte Sachar, der fünfte Netanel,

der sechste Ammiël, der siebte Issachar und der achte Pëulletai. Mit so vielen Söhnen hatte Gott ihn gesegnet.

Die Söhne von Obed-Edoms Sohn Schemaja bekamen führende Stellungen in ihrer Sippe, denn sie waren tüchtige Männer.

Es waren Otni, Refaël, Obed und Elsabad sowie ihre Brüder Elihu und Semachja, zwei sehr tüchtige Männer.

Alle diese Torwächter waren Nachkommen Obed-Edoms. Sie und ihre Söhne und näheren Verwandten waren für ihren Dienst bestens geeignet, insgesamt 62 Mann.

Die Söhne und näheren Verwandten von Meschelemja waren 18 Mann, ebenfalls fähige Leute.

Aus der Sippe Merari kam Hosa. Er hatte vier Söhne: Schimri, Hilkija, Tebalja und Secharja. Obwohl Schimri nicht der Erstgeborene war, hatte sein Vater ihn zum Anführer der Dienstgruppe gemacht. Insgesamt gehörten zur Familie Hosas dreizehn Söhne und nähere Verwandte.

Die Abteilungen der Torwächter wurden von den Oberhäuptern und den erwachsenen Männern der Familien gebildet. Ebenso wie die anderen Leviten verrichteten sie ihren Dienst am Tempel.

Sie losten aus, welche Familien die einzelnen Tore bewachen sollten, und auch dabei wurden die Älteren und die Jüngeren völlig gleich behandelt.

Für das Osttor fiel das Los auf Meschelemja und für das Nordtor auf seinen Sohn Secharja, der als ein kluger Ratgeber bekannt war.

Das Los für das Südtor fiel auf Obed-Edom, für das Vorratshaus auf seine Söhne.

Das Westtor und das Schallechet-Tor an der ansteigenden Straße wurden Schuppim und Hosa zugewiesen.

Die Posten wurden wie folgt verteilt:

An der Ostseite sollten täglich sechs Mann stehen, an der Nordseite vier, nach Süden ebenfalls vier, dazu zweimal zwei am Vorratshaus,

und nach Westen zwei an der Straße und vier am Parbarplatz.

Das waren die einzelnen Abteilungen der Torwächter, die alle zu den Nachkommen von Korach und Merari gehörten.

Einige andere Leviten führten Aufsicht über die Tempelschätze und über die geweihten Gaben, die für den Tempel gestiftet wurden.

Die Nachkommen Ladans aus der Sippe Gerschon, Oberhäupter ihrer Familien, waren Jehiël

und seine Söhne Setam und Joël. Diese bewachten die Tempelschätze.

Außer ihnen wurden auch Nachkommen von Amram, Jizhar, Hebron und Usiël mit dieser Aufgabe betraut.

Einst war Schubaël Oberaufseher über die Schätze des Heiligen Zeltes gewesen. Er war der Sohn von Gerschom, dem einen der beiden Söhne Moses.

Von Eliëser, dem anderen Sohn Moses, stammte Rehabja ab. Dessen Sohn war Jeschaja, die weiteren Nachkommen in direkter Linie waren Joram, Sichri und Schelomit.

Schelomit sollte nun zusammen mit seinen Brüdern die geweihten Gaben bewachen, alles, was König David, die Sippenoberhäupter, die Hauptleute und Obersten und die Befehlshaber des Heeres

aus ihrer Kriegsbeute abgeliefert hatten, um damit den Tempel gut auszustatten.

Vorher hatten auch schon der Seher Samuel und Saul, der Sohn von Kisch, Abner, der Sohn von Ner, und Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, solche Spenden gemacht. Alle Gaben wurden von Schelomit und seinen Brüdern beaufsichtigt. Jeder, der eine solche Gabe brachte, musste sie ihnen übergeben.

Von den Nachkommen Jizhars waren Kenanja und seine Söhne draußen im Land Israel als Amtleute und Richter tätig.

Von den Nachkommen Hebrons waren Haschabja und die Angehörigen seiner Sippe im Landesteil westlich des Jordans als Aufseher eingesetzt, sowohl für die Belange des Tempels als auch für die königliche Verwaltung. Sie waren insgesamt 1700 Mann, lauter tüchtige Leute.

Das Oberhaupt der Nachkommen Hebrons mit allen ihren Sippen und Familien war Jerija. Im 40. Regierungsjahr Davids suchte man den ganzen Sippenverband ab und fand dabei in Jaser im Land Gilead viele tüchtige Männer.

David setzte sie mit Jerija an der Spitze im Ostjordanland ein, wo die Stämme Ruben, Gad und der halbe Stamm Manasse wohnten. Sie waren dort Aufseher für die Angelegenheiten Gottes und des Königs, insgesamt 2700 Mann, jeder von ihnen das Oberhaupt einer eigenen Familie.

And the sons of Meshelemiah were Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.

Moreover the sons of Obed-Edom were Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth; for God blessed him.

Also to Shemaiah his son were sons born who governed their fatherś houses, because they were men of great ability.

The lot for the East Gate fell to Shelemiah. Then they cast lots for his son Zechariah, a wise counselor, and his lot came out for the North Gate;

to Obed-Edom the South Gate, and to his sons the storehouse.

To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came out for the West Gate, with the Shallecheth Gate on the ascending highway--watchman opposite watchman.

On the east were six Levites, on the north four each day, on the south four each day, and for the storehouse two by two.

As for the Parbar on the west, there were four on the highway and two at the Parbar.

These were the divisions of the gatekeepers among the sons of Korah and among the sons of Merari.

And all that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, every dedicated thing, was under the hand of Shelomith and his brethren.

Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons performed duties as officials and judges over Israel outside Jerusalem.

Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, one thousand seven hundred able men, had the oversight of Israel on the west side of the Jordan for all the business of the LORD, and in the service of the king.

Among the Hebronites, Jerijah was head of the Hebronites according to his genealogy of the fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought, and there were found among them capable men at Jazer of Gilead.
