и изы́де во срѣ́тенiе а́сѣ и всему́ Иу́дѣ и Венiами́ну и рече́ ему́: услы́шите мя́, а́са и ве́сь Иу́да и Венiами́нъ: Госпо́дь съ ва́ми, я́ко бы́сте съ ни́мъ: и а́ще взы́щете его́, обря́щется ва́мъ, а́ще же оста́вите его́, оста́витъ ва́съ:

собра́ же [всего́] Иу́ду и Венiами́на и прише́лцевъ обита́ющихъ съ ни́мъ от Ефре́ма и от Манассі́и и от Симео́на, мно́зи бо къ нему́ прибѣго́ша от Изра́иля, егда́ уви́дѣша, я́ко Госпо́дь Бо́гъ его́ съ ни́мъ.

И собра́шася во Иерусали́мъ въ ме́сяцъ тре́тiй, въ лѣ́то пятоена́десять ца́рства а́сы,

и пожро́ша Го́споду въ де́нь то́й от коры́стей, и́хже приведо́ша, воло́въ се́дмь со́тъ и ове́цъ се́дмь ты́сящъ,

и поидо́ша въ завѣ́тѣ, е́же иска́ти Го́спода Бо́га оте́цъ свои́хъ всѣ́мъ се́рдцемъ и все́ю душе́ю свое́ю:

и [рече́]: вся́къ, и́же а́ще не взы́щетъ Го́спода Бо́га Изра́илева, да у́мретъ от ю́наго да́же до старѣ́йшаго, от му́жа да́же до жены́.

И кля́шася Го́споду гла́сомъ вели́кимъ въ восклица́нiи и въ труба́хъ и въ ро́жаныхъ.

И возра́довася ве́сь Иу́да о кля́твѣ, я́ко от всея́ души́ кля́шася, и все́ю во́лею взыска́ша его́, и обрѣ́теся и́мъ, и даде́ и́мъ Госпо́дь поко́й о́крестъ.

И маа́ху ма́терь свою́ отлучи́, да не слу́житъ Аста́рту, и сокруши́ и́дола и сожже́ въ пото́цѣ ке́дрстѣмъ.

То́кмо высо́кихъ не отста́ви, еще́ бо бя́ху во Изра́или, но се́рдце а́сы бѣ́ соверше́нно во всѣ́хъ дне́хъ его́:

и внесе́ свята́я дави́да отца́ своего́ и свята́я своя́ въ до́мъ Бо́жiй, сребро́ и зла́то и сосу́ды.

И бра́нь не бы́сть ему́ да́же до три́десять пя́таго лѣ́та ца́рства а́сина.

1 Пророк возбудил Асу и народ обновить свой завет с Господом; 16 Аса ниспровергает истукан матери и приносит дары в дом Господень.

Тогда на Азарию, сына Одедова, сошел Дух Божий,

и вышел он навстречу Асе и сказал ему: послушайте меня, Аса и весь Иуда и Вениамин: Господь с вами, когда вы с Ним; и если будете искать Его, Он будет найден вами; если же оставите Его, Он оставит вас.

Многие дни Израиль будет без Бога истинного, и без священника учащего, и без закона.

Но когда он обратится в тесноте своей к Господу Богу Израилеву и взыщет Его, Он даст им найти Себя.

В те времена не будет мира ни выходящему, ни входящему, ибо великие волнения будут у всех жителей земель;

народ будет сражаться с народом, и город с городом, потому что Бог приведет их в смятение всякими бедствиями.

Но вы укрепитесь, и пусть не ослабевают руки ваши, потому что есть возмездие за дела ваши.

Когда услышал Аса слова сии и пророчество [Азарии], сына Одеда пророка, то ободрился и изверг мерзости языческие из всей земли Иудиной и Вениаминовой и из городов, которые он взял на горе Ефремовой, и обновил жертвенник Господень, который пред притвором Господним.

И собрал всего Иуду и Вениамина и живущих с ними переселенцев от Ефрема и Манассии и Симеона; ибо многие от Израиля перешли к нему, когда увидели, что Господь, Бог его, с ним.

И собрались в Иерусалим в третий месяц, в пятнадцатый год царствования Асы;

и принесли в день тот жертву Господу из добычи, которую привели, из крупного скота семьсот и из мелкого семь тысяч;

и вступили в завет, чтобы взыскать Господа Бога отцов своих от всего сердца своего и от всей души своей;

а всякий, кто не станет искать Господа Бога Израилева, должен умереть, малый ли он или большой, мужчина ли или женщина.

И радовались все Иудеи сей клятве, потому что от всего сердца своего клялись и со всем усердием взыскали Его, и Он дал им найти Себя. И дал им Господь покой со всех сторон.

И Мааху, мать свою, царь Аса лишил царского достоинства за то, что она сделала истукан для дубравы. И ниспроверг Аса истукан ее, и изрубил в куски, и сжег на долине Кедрона.

Хотя высоты не были отменены у Израиля, но сердце Асы было вполне предано Господу во все дни его.

И внес он посвященное отцом его и свое посвящение в дом Божий, серебро и золото и сосуды.

И не было войны до тридцать пятого года царствования Асы.

Vino el espíritu de Dios sobre Azarías hijo de Obed,

el cual salió al encuentro de Asa y le dijo: «Oídme, Asa, todo Judá y Benjamín: Jehová estará con vosotros si vosotros estáis con él; y si lo buscáis vosotros lo hallaréis; pero si lo dejáis, él también os dejará.

Muchos días ha estado Israel sin verdadero Dios y sin sacerdote que enseñara, y sin Ley;

pero cuando en su tribulación se convirtieron a Jehová, Dios de Israel, y lo buscaron, ellos lo hallaron.

En aquellos tiempos no hubo paz, ni para el que entraba ni para el que salía, sino muchas aflicciones sobre todos los habitantes de las tierras.

Una gente destruía a otra, y una ciudad a otra ciudad; porque Dios los turbó con toda clase de calamidades.

Pero esforzaos vosotros, y no desfallezcan vuestras manos, pues hay recompensa para vuestra obra.»

Cuando oyó Asa las palabras y la profecía del profeta Azarías hijo de Obed, cobró ánimo y quitó los ídolos abominables de toda la tierra de Judá y de Benjamín, y de las ciudades que él había tomado en la parte montañosa de Efraín; y reparó el altar de Jehová que estaba delante del pórtico de Jehová.

Después reunió a todo Judá y Benjamín, y con ellos los forasteros de Efraín, de Manasés y de Simeón; porque muchos de Israel se habían pasado a él, viendo que Jehová, su Dios, estaba con él.

Se reunieron, pues, en Jerusalén, en el mes tercero del año decimoquinto del reinado de Asa.

Y en aquel mismo día sacrificaron para Jehová, del botín que habían traído, setecientos bueyes y siete mil ovejas.

Entonces prometieron solemnemente que buscarían a Jehová, el Dios de sus padres, de todo su corazón y de toda su alma;

y que cualquiera que no buscara a Jehová, el Dios de Israel, que muriera, ya fuera grande o pequeño, hombre o mujer.

Juraron, pues, a Jehová en alta voz y con gritos de júbilo, al son de trompetas y de bocinas.

Todos los de Judá se alegraron de este juramento; porque de todo su corazón lo juraban, y con toda su voluntad lo buscaban. Por eso Jehová se dejó hallar de ellos y les dio paz por todas partes.

Aun a Maaca, su propia madre, el mismo rey Asa la depuso de su dignidad, porque había hecho una imagen de Asera; y Asa destruyó la imagen, la desmenuzó y la quemó junto al torrente Cedrón.

Con todo esto, los lugares altos no desaparecieron de Israel, aunque el corazón de Asa fue perfecto en todos sus días.

Trajo éste a la casa de Dios lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él mismo había consagrado, plata, oro y utensilios.

Y no hubo más guerra hasta el año treinta y cinco del reinado de Asa.

Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded.

And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: «Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law;

but when in their trouble they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them.

And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands.

So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity.

But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!»

And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the LORD that was before the vestibule of the LORD.

Then he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who dwelt with them from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon, for they came over to him in great numbers from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

So they gathered together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

And they offered to the LORD at that time seven hundred bulls and seven thousand sheep from the spoil they had brought.

Then they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

and whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

Then they took an oath before the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting and trumpets and ramś horns.

And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the LORD gave them rest all around.

Also he removed Maachah, the mother of Asa the king, from being queen mother, because she had made an obscene image of Asherah; and Asa cut down her obscene image, then crushed and burned it by the Brook Kidron.

But the high places were not removed from Israel. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was loyal all his days.

He also brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated: silver and gold and utensils.

And there was no war until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.
