Now Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

And he began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

This is the foundation which Solomon laid for building the house of God: The length was sixty cubits (by cubits according to the former measure) and the width twenty cubits.

And the vestibule that was in front of the sanctuary was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and the height was one hundred and twenty. He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

The larger room he paneled with cypress which he overlaid with fine gold, and he carved palm trees and chainwork on it.

And he decorated the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold from Parvaim.

He also overlaid the house--the beams and doorposts, its walls and doors--with gold; and he carved cherubim on the walls.

And he made the Most Holy Place. Its length was according to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits. He overlaid it with six hundred talents of fine gold.

The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold; and he overlaid the upper area with gold.

In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim, fashioned by carving, and overlaid them with gold.

The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits in overall length: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub;

one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

The wings of these cherubim spanned twenty cubits overall. They stood on their feet, and they faced inward.

And he made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and wove cherubim into it.

Also he made in front of the temple two pillars thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

He made wreaths of chainwork, as in the inner sanctuary, and put them on top of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the wreaths of chainwork.

Then he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand and the other on the left; he called the name of the one on the right hand Jachin, and the name of the one on the left Boaz.

И начал Соломон строить дом Господень в Иерусалиме на горе Мориа, которая указана была Давиду, отцу его, на месте, которое приготовил Давид, на гумне Орны Иевусеянина.

В гвоздях весу до пятидесяти сиклей золота [в каждом гвозде]. Горницы также покрыл золотом.

И сделал он во Святом Святых двух херувимов резной работы и покрыл их золотом.

Крылья херувимов длиною были в двадцать локтей. Одно крыло в пять локтей касалось стены дома, а другое крыло в пять же локтей сходилось с крылом другого херувима;

равно и крыло другого херувима в пять локтей касалось стены дома, а другое крыло в пять локтей сходилось с крылом другого херувима.

Крылья сих херувимов были распростерты на двадцать локтей; и они стояли на ногах своих, лицами своими к храму.

И сделал завесу из яхонтовой, пурпуровой и багряной ткани и из виссона и изобразил на ней херувимов.

И сделал пред храмом два столба, длиною по тридцати пяти локтей, и капитель на верху каждого в пять локтей.

Y comenzó a edificar en el mes segundo, a los dos días del mes, en el cuarto año de su reinado.

Éstas son las medidas que dio Salomón a los cimientos de la casa de Dios: la longitud era de sesenta codos y la anchura de veinte codos.

El pórtico que estaba al frente del edificio era de veinte codos de largo, igual al ancho de la Casa, y su altura de ciento veinte codos. Salomón lo recubrió por dentro de oro puro,

y techó el cuerpo mayor del edificio con madera de ciprés, la cual recubrió de oro fino, haciendo esculpir en ella palmeras y cadenas.

Recubrió también la Casa con un ornamento de piedras preciosas; y el oro era oro de Parvaim.

Revistió, pues, la Casa, sus vigas, sus umbrales, sus paredes y sus puertas, con oro; y esculpió querubines en las paredes.

Construyó asimismo el Lugar santísimo, cuya longitud era de veinte codos, de acuerdo al ancho del frente de la Casa, y su anchura de veinte codos. Lo revistió de oro fino, el cual ascendía a seiscientos talentos.

Los clavos de oro pesaban de uno hasta cincuenta siclos. También recubrió de oro los aposentos.

Dentro del Lugar santísimo hizo dos querubines de madera, los cuales fueron recubiertos de oro.

La longitud de las alas de los querubines era de veinte codos; porque un ala era de cinco codos, y llegaba hasta la pared de la Casa, mientras la otra de cinco codos tocaba el ala del segundo querubín.

De la misma manera una ala del otro querubín era de cinco codos, la cual llegaba hasta la pared de la Casa, y la otra era de cinco codos, que tocaba el ala del otro querubín.

Estos querubines, cuyas alas extendidas medían veinte codos, estaban en pie con los rostros vueltos hacia la Casa.

Hizo también el velo de azul, púrpura, carmesí y lino, e hizo bordar querubines en él.

Delante de la Casa hizo dos columnas de treinta y cinco codos de altura cada una, con capiteles de cinco codos encima.

Hizo asimismo cadenas en el santuario y las puso sobre los capiteles de las columnas; e hizo cien granadas, las cuales puso en las cadenas.

Colocó las columnas delante del Templo, una a la mano derecha y otra a la izquierda; a la de la mano derecha llamó Jaquín y a la de la izquierda, Boaz.
