«For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the houses of the kings of Judah, which have been pulled down to fortify against the siege mounds and the sword:

«They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but only to fill their places with the dead bodies of men whom I will slay in My anger and My fury, all for whose wickedness I have hidden My face from this city.

Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first.

I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.

Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.́

«Thus says the LORD: «Again there shall be heard in this place--of which you say, «It is desolate, without man and without beast»--in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,

the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: «Praise the LORD of hosts, For the LORD is good, For His mercy endures forever»-- and of those who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,́ says the LORD.

«Thus says the LORD of hosts: «In this place which is desolate, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall again be a dwelling place of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, in the cities of the South, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks shall again pass under the hands of him who counts them,́ says the LORD.

«Behold, the days are coming,́ says the LORD, «that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah:

«In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.́

«For thus says the LORD: «David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually.»́

And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

«Thus says the LORD: «If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season,

then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.»́

Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

«Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, «The two families which the LORD has chosen, He has also cast them off

«Thus says the LORD: «If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth,

then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them.»́

Als Jeremia im Wachthof gefangen gehalten wurde, erging das Wort des HERRN noch ein zweites Mal an ihn. Er sagte:

»Ich, der HERR, bewirke alles, was geschieht; was ich will, das wird Wirklichkeit. Mein Name ist ́Der HERŔ.

Wende dich an mich und ich werde dir antworten! Ich werde dir große Dinge zeigen, von denen du nichts weißt und auch nichts wissen kannst.

Häuser wurden abgebrochen, sogar die Paläste der Könige von Juda, um die Mauern zu verstärken gegen die Angriffsrampen der Babylonier und um ihren Angriffen besser standhalten zu können. Die anderen Häuser aber wurden mit den Leichen der Menschen gefüllt, die ich in meinem glühenden Zorn erschlagen hatte. Denn ich hatte mich von Jerusalem abgewandt, weil seine Bewohner so viel Böses getan haben.

Doch jetzt sage ich, der HERR, der Gott Israels:

́Ich werde die Wunden Jerusalems verbinden und heilen. Ich stelle es wieder her und schenke ihm echten, dauerhaften Frieden.

Ja, ich werde für Juda und Israel alles wieder zum Guten wenden und sie wieder zu dem machen, was sie einmal waren.

Ich werde den Leuten von Juda und den Leuten von Israel die Schuld vergeben, die sie auf sich geladen haben, ihren Ungehorsam, ihre Vergehen und ihre Auflehnung gegen mich!

Und Jerusalem wird für mich wieder ein Grund zur Freude sein, eine Stadt, die mir bei allen Völkern der Welt Ruhm und Ehre einbringt. Die Völker werden sprachlos sein vor Staunen, wenn sie hören, wie viel Glück und Wohlstand ich dieser Stadt schenke.́«

Weiter sagte der HERR: »Ihr meint: ́Bald wird hier niemand mehr wohnen, in Jerusalem und in allen Städten von Juda; das ganze Land wird zur Wüste werden, in der kein Mensch und kein Stück Vieh mehr lebt.́ Aber seid gewiss: Jubel und Freude kehren zurück! Der Jubelruf von Bräutigam und Braut wird wieder zu hören sein. Das Volk wird wieder Dankopfer zu meinem Tempel bringen und dabei singen: ́Dankt dem HERRN, dem Herrscher der Welt, denn er ist gut zu uns! Seine Liebe hört niemals auf!́ Denn ich werde für dieses Land alles wieder zum Guten wenden; ich mache es wieder zu dem, was es früher war.«

Weiter sagte der Herr, der Herrscher der Welt: »Dieses Land wird jetzt zu einer Wüste, in der kein Mensch und kein Stück Vieh mehr lebt. Doch danach werden alle Städte in Juda wieder ihr Weideland haben, auf dem Hirten mit ihren Herden lagern –

die Städte im Gebirge, im Hügelland und in der Steppe im Süden, im Gebiet von Benjamin und im Umkreis von Jerusalem. Überall wird es wieder Hirten geben, die ihre Schafe zählen. Das sage ich, der HERR.«

»Die Zeit kommt«, sagt der HERR, »da lasse ich in Erfüllung gehen, was ich den Leuten von Israel und von Juda versprochen habe:

Ich werde aus der Nachkommenschaft Davids einen Mann berufen, der dem Namen Davids wieder Ehre macht. Er wird das Land gerecht regieren, weil er sich an meine Weisungen hält.

Dann wird das Volk von Juda vor Feinden sicher sein und auch die Bewohner Jerusalems werden in Frieden leben. Jerusalem wird dann den Namen tragen: ́Der HERR ist unsere Rettung!́«

Ja, so spricht der HERR: »Stets wird einer von Davids Nachkommen König über Israel sein

und stets wird es Priester aus dem Stamm Levi geben, die mir im Tempel Brandopfer und Speiseopfer darbringen und die Tiere für die Mahlopfer schlachten!«

Und das Wort des HERRN erging an Jeremia:

»Ich habe mit dem Tag und der Nacht einen Bund geschlossen: Sie kommen und gehen zur festgesetzten Zeit. Sowenig ein Mensch diesen Bund außer Kraft setzen kann,

sowenig werde ich den Bund außer Kraft setzen, den ich mit David, meinem vertrauten Diener, geschlossen habe. Ihm habe ich zugesagt, dass stets einer seiner Nachkommen über sein Reich herrschen wird. Und auch mein Bund mit den Priestern aus dem Stamm Levi wird nicht außer Kraft gesetzt.

So unzählbar wie die Sterne am Himmel und so unmessbar wie den Sand am Meer werde ich die Nachkommen meines Dieners David machen und auch die Nachkommen Levis, die mir als Priester dienen.«

Weiter sagte der HERR zu Jeremia:

»Hast du gehört, was gewisse Leute reden? Sie behaupten: ́Der HERR hat Juda und Israel verstoßen, die er sich doch selbst erwählt hatte.́ So verachten sie mein Volk; in ihren Augen hat es aufgehört, ein Volk zu sein.

Doch ich sage dir: Ich habe mit dem Tag und der Nacht einen Bund geschlossen; ich habe dem Himmel und der Erde feste Ordnungen gegeben.

So gewiss ich dies getan habe und dazu stehe, so gewiss werde ich die Nachkommen Jakobs und die Nachkommen meines Dieners David nie verstoßen und so gewiss werden immer Männer aus der Nachkommenschaft Davids über die Nachkommen Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs herrschen. Denn ich werde Erbarmen haben mit meinem Volk und alles wieder zum Guten wenden!«

И было слово Господне к Иеремии вторично, когда он еще содержался во дворе стражи:

Так говорит Господь, Который сотворил [землю], Господь, Который устроил и утвердил ее, – Господь имя Ему:

воззови ко Мне – и Я отвечу тебе, покажу тебе великое и недоступное, чего ты не знаешь.

Ибо так говорит Господь, Бог Израилев, о домах города сего и о домах царей Иудейских, которые разрушаются для завалов и для сражения

пришедшими воевать с Халдеями, чтобы наполнить домы трупами людей, которых Я поражу во гневе Моем и в ярости Моей, и за все беззакония которых Я сокрыл лице Мое от города сего.

Вот, Я приложу ему пластырь и целебные средства, и уврачую их, и открою им обилие мира и истины,

и возвращу плен Иуды и плен Израиля и устрою их, как вначале,

и очищу их от всего нечестия их, которым они грешили предо Мною, и прощу все беззакония их, которыми они грешили предо Мною и отпали от Меня.

И будет для меня Иерусалим радостным именем, похвалою и честью пред всеми народами земли, которые услышат о всех благах, какие Я сделаю ему, и изумятся и затрепещут от всех благодеяний и всего благоденствия, которое Я доставлю ему.

Так говорит Господь: на этом месте, о котором вы говорите: «оно пусто, без людей и без скота», – в городах Иудейских и на улицах Иерусалима, которые пусты, без людей, без жителей, без скота,

опять будет слышен голос радости и голос веселья, голос жениха и голос невесты, голос говорящих: «славьте Господа Саваофа, ибо благ Господь, ибо вовек милость Его», и голос приносящих жертву благодарения в доме Господнем; ибо Я возвращу плененных сей земли в прежнее состояние, говорит Господь.

Так говорит Господь Саваоф: на этом месте, которое пусто, без людей, без скота, и во всех городах его опять будут жилища пастухов, которые будут покоить стада.

В городах нагорных, в городах низменных и в городах южных, и в земле Вениаминовой, и в окрестностях Иерусалима, и в городах Иуды опять будут проходить стада под рукою считающего, говорит Господь.

Вот, наступят дни, говорит Господь, когда Я выполню то доброе слово, которое изрек о доме Израилевом и о доме Иудином.

В те дни и в то время возращу Давиду Отрасль праведную, и будет производить суд и правду на земле.

В те дни Иуда будет спасен и Иерусалим будет жить безопасно, и нарекут имя Ему: «Господь оправдание наше!»

Ибо так говорит Господь: не прекратится у Давида муж, сидящий на престоле дома Израилева,

и у священников-левитов не будет недостатка в муже пред лицем Моим, во все дни возносящем всесожжение и сожигающем приношения и совершающем жертвы.

И было слово Господне к Иеремии:

так говорит Господь: если можете разрушить завет Мой о дне и завет Мой о ночи, чтобы день и ночь не приходили в свое время,

то может быть разрушен и завет Мой с рабом Моим Давидом, так что не будет у него сына, царствующего на престоле его, и также с левитами-священниками, служителями Моими.

Как неисчислимо небесное воинство и неизмерим песок морской, так размножу племя Давида, раба Моего, и левитов, служащих Мне.

И было слово Господне к Иеремии:

не видишь ли, что народ этот говорит: «те два племени, которые избрал Господь, Он отверг?» и чрез это они презирают народ Мой, как бы он уже не был народом в глазах их.

Так говорит Господь: если завета Моего о дне и ночи и уставов неба и земли Я не утвердил,

то и племя Иакова и Давида, раба Моего, отвергну, чтобы не брать более владык из его племени для племени Авраама, Исаака и Иакова; ибо возвращу плен их и помилую их.
