Now the rest of the people--the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all those who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, everyone who had knowledge and understanding--

these joined with their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse and an oath to walk in God́s Law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and His ordinances and His statutes:

We would not give our daughters as wives to the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons;

if the peoples of the land brought wares or any grain to sell on the Sabbath day, we would not buy it from them on the Sabbath, or on a holy day; and we would forego the seventh yeaŕs produce and the exacting of every debt.

Also we made ordinances for ourselves, to exact from ourselves yearly one-third of a shekel for the service of the house of our God:

for the showbread, for the regular grain offering, for the regular burnt offering of the Sabbaths, the New Moons, and the set feasts; for the holy things, for the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and all the work of the house of our God.

We cast lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for bringing the wood offering into the house of our God, according to our fatherś houses, at the appointed times year by year, to burn on the altar of the LORD our God as it is written in the Law.

And we made ordinances to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, to the house of the LORD;

to bring the firstborn of our sons and our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstborn of our herds and our flocks, to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God;

to bring the firstfruits of our dough, our offerings, the fruit from all kinds of trees, the new wine and oil, to the priests, to the storerooms of the house of our God; and to bring the tithes of our land to the Levites, for the Levites should receive the tithes in all our farming communities.

And the priest, the descendant of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive tithes; and the Levites shall bring up a tenth of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms of the storehouse.

For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the grain, of the new wine and the oil, to the storerooms where the articles of the sanctuary are, where the priests who minister and the gatekeepers and the singers are; and we will not neglect the house of our God.

Nous promîmes de ne pas donner nos filles aux peuples du pays et de ne pas prendre leurs filles pour nos fils;

de ne rien acheter, le jour du sabbat et les jours de fête, des peuples du pays qui apporteraient à vendre, le jour du sabbat, des marchandises ou denrées quelconques; et de faire relâche la septième année, en n'exigeant le paiement d'aucune dette.

Nous nous imposâmes aussi des ordonnances qui nous obligeaient à donner un tiers de sicle par année pour le service de la maison de notre Dieu,

pour les pains de proposition, pour l'offrande perpétuelle, pour l'holocauste perpétuel des sabbats, des nouvelles lunes et des fêtes, pour les choses consacrées, pour les sacrifices d'expiation en faveur d'Israël, et pour tout ce qui se fait dans la maison de notre Dieu.

Nous tirâmes au sort, sacrificateurs, Lévites et peuple, au sujet du bois qu'on devait chaque année apporter en offrande à la maison de notre Dieu, selon nos maisons paternelles, à des époques fixes, pour qu'il fût brûlé sur l'autel de l'Éternel, notre Dieu, comme il est écrit dans la loi.

Nous résolûmes d'apporter chaque année à la maison de l'Éternel les prémices de notre sol et les prémices de tous les fruits de tous les arbres;

d'amener à la maison de notre Dieu, aux sacrificateurs qui font le service dans la maison de notre Dieu, les premiers-nés de nos fils et de notre bétail, comme il est écrit dans la loi, les premiers-nés de nos boeufs et de nos brebis;

d'apporter aux sacrificateurs, dans les chambres de la maison de notre Dieu, les prémices de notre pâte et nos offrandes, des fruits de tous les arbres, du moût et de l'huile; et de livrer la dîme de notre sol aux Lévites qui doivent la prendre eux-mêmes dans toutes les villes situées sur les terres que nous cultivons.

Le sacrificateur, fils d'Aaron, sera avec les Lévites quand ils lèveront la dîme; et les Lévites apporteront la dîme de la dîme à la maison de notre Dieu, dans les chambres de la maison du trésor.

Car les enfants d'Israël et les fils de Lévi apporteront dans ces chambres les offrandes de blé, du moût et d'huile; là sont les ustensiles du sanctuaire, et se tiennent les sacrificateurs qui font le service, les portiers et les chantres. C'est ainsi que nous résolûmes de ne pas abandonner la maison de notre Dieu.

и не отдавать дочерей своих иноземным народам, и их дочерей не брать за сыновей своих;

и когда иноземные народы будут привозить товары и все продажное в субботу, не брать у них в субботу и в священный день, и в седьмой год оставлять долги всякого рода.

И поставили мы себе в закон давать от себя по трети сикля в год на потребности для дома Бога нашего:

на хлебы предложения, на всегдашнее хлебное приношение и на всегдашнее всесожжение, на субботы, на новомесячия, на праздники, на священные вещи и на жертвы за грех для очищения Израиля, и на все, совершаемое в доме Бога нашего.

И бросили мы жребии о доставке дров, священники, левиты и народ, когда которому поколению нашему в назначенные времена, из года в год, привозить их к дому Бога нашего, чтоб они горели на жертвеннике Господа Бога нашего, по написанному в законе.

И обязались мы каждый год приносить в дом Господень начатки с земли нашей и начатки всяких плодов со всякого дерева;

также приводить в дом Бога нашего к священникам, служащим в доме Бога нашего, первенцев из сыновей наших и из скота нашего, как написано в законе, и первородное от крупного и мелкого скота нашего.

И начатки из молотого хлеба нашего и приношений наших, и плодов со всякого дерева, вина и масла мы будем доставлять священникам в кладовые при доме Бога нашего и десятину с земли нашей левитам. Они, левиты, будут брать десятину во всех городах, где у нас земледелие.

При левитах, когда они будут брать левитскую десятину, будет находиться священник, сын Аарона, чтобы левиты десятину из своих десятин отвозили в дом Бога нашего в комнаты, отделенные для кладовой,

потому что в эти комнаты как сыны Израилевы, так и левиты должны доставлять приносимое в дар: хлеб, вино и масло. Там священные сосуды, и служащие священники, и привратники, и певцы. И мы не оставим до́ма Бога нашего.
