Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it:

«I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles,

To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.

Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.»

Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise from the ends of the earth, You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!

Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, The villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, Let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Let them give glory to the LORD, And declare His praise in the coastlands.

The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.

«I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once.

I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools.

I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

They shall be turned back, They shall be greatly ashamed, Who trust in carved images, Who say to the molded images, «You are our gods.́

«Hear, you deaf; And look, you blind, that you may see.

Who is blind but My servant, Or deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is blind as he who is perfect, And blind as the LORD́s servant?

Seeing many things, but you do not observe; Opening the ears, but he does not hear.»

The LORD is well pleased for His righteousnesś sake; He will exalt the law and make it honorable.

But this is a people robbed and plundered; All of them are snared in holes, And they are hidden in prison houses; They are for prey, and no one delivers; For plunder, and no one says, «Restore!»

Who among you will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come?

Who gave Jacob for plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Was it not the LORD, He against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in His ways, Nor were they obedient to His law.

Therefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger And the strength of battle; It has set him on fire all around, Yet he did not know; And it burned him, Yet he did not take it to heart.

Иаков, отрок Мой, восприиму его; Израиль — избранный Мой, благоволит к Нему душа Моя. Ниспошлю Дух Мой на Него, суд народам возвестит.

Не возопиет, не ослабеет, и не услышится вне глас Его.

Трости надломленной не переломит и льна курящегося не угасит, но поистине произнесет суд.

Воссияет и не потухнет, пока не утвердит на земле суда, и на имя Его будут уповать народы.

Так говорит Господь Бог, сотворивший небо и укрепивший его, утвердивший землю и что на ней, и дающий дыхание народу на ней и дух ходящим по ней.

Воспойте Господу новую песнь, начальство Его, прославьте имя Его от концов земли, сходящие на море и плавающие по нему, острова и живущие на них!

Возвеселись, пустыня и селения ее, села и живущие в Кидаре! Возвеселятся живущие на скалах, с вершин гор да возгласят.

Да воздадут славу Богу и о добродетели Его возвестят на островах.

Господь Бог сил выйдет и сокрушит войско, возбудит ревность и с силою воскликнет против врагов Своих:

Я молчал; ужели и всегда Я буду молчать и терпеть? Я переносил (боли), как рождающая; истреблю и иссушу вместе.

Опустошу горы и холмы, и всю траву их иссушу, и реки сделаю островами, и осушу озера.

И поведу слепых путем, которого они не видели, и заставлю их ходить стезями, которых они не ведали; сделаю для них тьму светом и кривое — прямым. Эти слова Я исполню и не оставлю их.

А они обратились назад. Чрезмерно усрамитесь, надеющиеся на идолов, говорящие истуканам: вы — наши боги.

Глухие, слушайте, и слепые, прозирайте, чтобы видеть.

И кто так слеп, как рабы Мои, и глух, как владеющие ими? И ослепли рабы Божии.

Много раз вы видели и не сохранили, отверстые уши (имели) и не слышали.

Господь Бог восхотел проявить правду и возвеличить хвалу.

Кто из вас внемлет сему и услышит для будущего?

Кто отдал Иакова на разграбление и Израиля пленившим его? Не Бог ли, пред Коим согрешили и не захотели путями Его ходить и слушать закона Его?

И навел на них яростный гнев Свой, и усилилась против них война, и стали их со всех сторон жечь, но никто из них не уразумел (сего) и не положил на уме.

J'ai longtemps gardé le silence, je me suis tu, je me suis contenu; Je crierai comme une femme en travail, Je serai haletant et je soufflerai tout à la fois.

L'Éternel a voulu, pour le bonheur d'Israël, Publier une loi grande et magnifique.

Et c'est un peuple pillé et dépouillé! On les a tous enchaînés dans des cavernes, Plongés dans des cachots; Ils ont été mis au pillage, et personne qui les délivre! Dépouillés, et personne qui dise: Restitue!

Qui parmi vous prêtera l'oreille à ces choses? Qui voudra s'y rendre attentif et écouter à l'avenir?

Qui a livré Jacob au pillage, Et Israël aux pillards? N'est-ce pas l'Éternel? Nous avons péché contre lui. Ils n'ont point voulu marcher dans ses voies, Et ils n'ont point écouté sa loi.

Aussi a-t-il versé sur Israël l'ardeur de sa colère Et la violence de la guerre; La guerre l'a embrasé de toutes parts, et il n'a point compris; Elle l'a consumé, et il n'y a point pris garde.
